A Cure for the Medical Billing Blues
Do you have the medical billing blues?
Perk up! We have a couple tricks up our sleeve to add some fun to your day.
According to copyblogger.com in a recent post, we read blogs because they act as a diversion for us. I suppose that's a fair assessment. Afterall, whether you're a biller, coder, admin; physician, PA, RN; office manager, director or C-level executive, all healthcare professionals put in long hours and need to stay sharp so that we can do our jobs to the best of our ability.
It would follow that an occasional diversion from the daily grind helps to refresh our minds and keeps us on our toes. The hope, of course, is that we use diversions such as industry blogs, resource directories, and professional networking sites to educate ourselves, share our knowledge with others, and connect with industry peers--as opposed to diversions that would fall more appropriately under the category of "goofing off"--to take a quick break from our regular routines.
To that end, here are a few professional diversions we highly recommend!
- Drama Radio -- These short audio spots were written by our CEO, Douglas Kegler, to add a touch of humor to some pretty hairy situations. (HINT: Do you recognize the voice? Think...Heroes)
- Follow Us -- We're regularly tweeting on Twitter these days, and we've found it to be the fastest way to communicate urgent news. It's a free service, so get yourself a profile and be sure to follow CollaborateMD.
- Become a Fan -- We've just launched our facebook page and started a new CollaborateMD group to better keep in touch with you. I've even seen a couple hush-hush development updates appear from our VP of Development, Patrick Mann, that haven't been spotted anywhere else!
- Medical Billing Industry Resources -- Vote for your favorites, learn about some cool resources you may have never discovered, and send us your own for us to add to the list!
Feel free to bookmark these sites and visit any time you need a quick break. And leave us a comment with your favorite diversions, too.
Now, get back to work!
